Diabetes Foot Care
- Check your feet daily for blister, cuts & scratches. A mirror can be used in seeing bottom of the feet. Regularly check your toes.
- Wash your feet daily, Dry them carefully especially between your toes.
- Protect your feet from hot & cold. Test temperature of water with hand or elbow before taking a bath.
- Avoid walking barefoot even at home. Wear proper shoes with wide toebox that fits & protects your feets.
- Inspect the inside of shoes daily for foreign objects daily, nail point, torn lining on rough area.
- For Dry feet user very thin coat of lubricating oil or cream all over foot except spaces in between toes.
- Trim your nails across and file edges with nail filer.
- Remember: Don't use chemical agents for removal of corns & calluses and don't even cut these with blades.
- Diabetes Patients having foot problems can use diabetes foot wear specially designed for them.
